The God Box is a location in NieR:Automata, available for access during the second half of the game. It is the last of three Resource Recovery Units the machine network sends 9S go to, just so he could enter the Tower.
He meets A2 here for the second time after she had killed 2B, right after the fight with Operator 21O.
Location
The God Box appears in Route C above the Theater in the Amusement Park. Only once the player gains control of 9S will the structure lower just enough for him to jump up to its door.

Contains a spinning platform where the park's Medium Flyer variant makes its only appearance. |
Notes
- The structure is noted to generate a lot of steam, slightly obscuring the surrounding area.
- Once 9S heads to the God Box to retrieve the Park Access Key, the Theater and the area beneath it becomes unavailable for access until after beating the game, where it could be entered again via Chapter Select.
Trivia
- The letters above the door correspond with their English counterparts save for the letter X, as no equivalent exists in Angelic; its name is rendered hence as "God Bos" instead.
- Of the three Resource Recovery Units, the God Box is the only one to be destroyed during the course of the game.
- The presence of the God Box seems to have left the Machine Lifeform inhabitants of the Amusement Park in a zombie-like state. Whereas previously the residents were in a state of perpetual festivity and joy, they now roam the park aimlessly in search of others to "feed" on, with the few remaining lucid Machine Lifeforms fearing for their lives.
- In NieR:Automata Ver1.1a, the God Box is instead in the Forest Zone. The interior is hollow and contains 2B's flight unit along with several monitors.
