Seafront is a location in NieR and NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139.... The large trading town to the south of Nier's village overlooks the ocean and has many shops to visit. It is also where the fishing sidequest will begin, after speaking to the Fisherman.

Overview

Seafront is a town with a warm climate that is regulated by the sea. It also has an abundance of seafood and other food resources. The size of the town is the biggest in the nearby area, and it trades often with other countries.

The highest platform in the town is the lighthouse, with a clear view of the town from the top. Maintained by the Lighthouse Lady as part of a scheme set up by the town to prevent her from learning of her lover's demise, she is shown to have succumbed to the Black Scrawl in her accompanying questline, leaving Seafront's residents to initiate repairs themselves.

Since the town is right by the ocean, there are many different fish to catch. Most of them are available from any part of the town—however, the shaman fish are only available by the hidden beach which is next to the lighthouse. Prominent along the beach during the game's first half are seals that bask in the sun. The people in Seafront worship the seals as guardians of their town.

Introduced in ver.1.22... are two minor characters known simply as the Red-Bag Man and Woman respectively, as well as a new boss named Louise, found in a shipwreck along Seafront's beach. The couple is first encountered during the game's first half to display the ferry's renovation, and the Red-Bag Man indeed transports Nier to designated docks later on. His search for key fragments will be interrupted for a time when Popola notifies him of the Red-Bag Man's absence, whereupon he later discovers the ferryman's remains inside the shipwreck's hull.

Notes

• The "Fisherman's Gambit" quests (alongside Boar Hunt!) are the only ones that carry through to Act II. Parts 1 to 5 can be completed during the game's first half, while parts 6 to 9 can be started as soon as the player gains control of Nier after the timeskip.
• The Lighthouse Lady's quest chain (The Postman's Request. The Lighthouse Lady's Wrath, and Closure) are the only quests that somehow don't appear in Seafront, and by extension the game in general. They are acquired exclusively from Devola at the Village's tavern.
• Skipping the Lighthouse Lady after acquiring a Shaman Fish from the beach will later result in a conversation between Nier and Yonah at the Village, with the latter convincing Nier to return and help the old lady.
