Command is an organization that oversees and commands YoRHa forces. They are responsible for receiving orders from the Council of Humanity and relaying them to the appropriate individuals.[2][3] The term also refers to the command center of the Bunker where Command operates.[4][5][Note 1]
Contact with the Council is primarily maintained by Commander White.[3][8] Operators are assigned to interface with deployed YoRHa units and convey received orders, among other duties.[9][10] This includes providing combat/intel updates,[11] regularly-scheduled check-ins,[12][13] and reporting back to the rest of Command.[9][14][15]
Trivia
- YoRHa units are expected to consult with Command before communicating with machine lifeforms.[16]
- Command can directly authorize a Pod's use of weaponry in the absence of a YoRHa unit.[17]
- The term "Command" is used by Zinnia in YoRHa Boys and The Memories of Puppets. The entity is suggested to be a superior of Zinnia, and it was this Command who decided that YoRHa units would only be named using their model number.[18] It is unclear whether this Command is the same as the Bunker Command or an entirely separate entity.[Note 2]
- According to a pamphlet from YoRHa Girls, the Bunker Command operates under the Army of Humanity and uses its emblem, at least at the time of the Experimental F Squadron.[verification needed] This is supported by the fact the emblem can be seen at the Bunker's entrance to the Command room in NieR:Automata.

Notes
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 In NieR:Automata World Guide Volume 2, it is stated that Command is essentially a synonym for the Council of Humanity.[6] This is presumably because Command directly communicates with the Council.[7][8] However, it is unclear whether Command is solely comprised of androids on the Bunker, or also includes an additional, higher entity that is part of the Council of Humanity.
- ↑ In NieR:Automata World Guide Volume 2, it is stated that Command is essentially a synonym for the Council of Humanity.[6] Since Zinnia's conversation occurred prior to the Council of Humanity's creation,[19] the Bunker Command could not be the same Command that Zinnia refers to.
