SS is a Pod that makes an appearance in the form of a new YoRHa "SS" technology that all of the M Squadron are given. (SS = Support System Model Delta Code 153). It appears in the YoRHa Boys stage play.
Story
No.2 has an SSU installed on his wrist, which frequently nags him without any flexibility.
Instructor Black later gives to everyone their own tailor-made Support System Model Delta Code 153 (SSUs), a precursor to Pod technology, that would provide real-time tactical advise and nullify any physical viruses outside of the Logic Virus. Instructor Black has it give a demonstration by making it perform a physical check on No.6, whose internal systems begin to vibrate as a result and makes him suggestively moan.
No.2's SSU constantly presses him to eliminate the M Squadron without taking into account his circumstances or providing any recommendations whatsoever, and later even threatens to overload his black box for not complying with direct orders.
Instructor Black is later able to use his sword equipped with the SSU as a conduit to overload No.6's black box.
No.4 has his SSU emit a distress signal for YoRHa units to find his location.
After No.2's death, No.9 discovers No.2's SSU unit. No.2 requests the SSU to delete all data collected of No.2 so that he would never be revived as an assassin again, but the SSU is unable to comply, saying it cannot without direct authorization by Command. The SSU goes on to reveal that they are all experimental subjects rendered to be obsolete, with data results concluding that Attacker, Gunner, and Healer models were no longer needed. Furthermore, all male YoRHa models were assessed to lack organizational cohesiveness despite their improved strength, with a primary focus on female YoRHa model production in the future, and that all remaining M Squadron members would have their consciousness data erased and be repurposed as Scanners. It then plays No.2's final recording to No.9.
